A Little Bit About Me
Salaam alaikum
I hope you’re well in-sha'Allah.
I’m updating my profile as I’ve obviously had such tremendous luck with my previous one! (So I have a healthy amount of sarcasm, as you can probably tell.)
I don’t want to launch into a diatribe of what I find wrong/unattractive with people who have expressed interest - this does nothing but cause aggravation and likely paints a very negative picture of who I am - and I’m not that guy.
So who am I?
Pakistan born, and lived there a whole six months before moving to the Middle East and then, being a UK national, to Bonnie Scotland at around ten years old. Which explains my Canadian accent somewhat and my attitude a whole lot more - burger joints, salami, hotdogs, bbqing in winter, coffee, donuts and cookies and ice cold milk - the whole shebang.
Laid back (generally - but like everybody, I have my moments) and chilled, honest, direct (sometimes a bit too much), very much a live and let live (can’t change the direction of the wind by walking against it) kinda guy.
Religious credentials are as stated - alhumdulillah pray all five, zakat, fast, and alhumdulillah completed Hajj 2010, may all my efforts be accepted, ameen. Admittedly with work sometimes I end up running a little for salah but do qadha to catch up.
Saying this, I’m not extreme - I still watch movies, go out for food, and interact with society but all within Islaamic etiquette. Smiling is sunnah so why not smile at people walking alongside a quick hello?
I work in pediatrics and alhumdulillah I enjoy my job - but some days I don’t get away on time but that’s just the way it is. My patients are an amanah and I take that seriously alhumdulillah. That’s also the reason I don’t display my photos as I meet lots of people during my work and it becomes awkward if you’ve come across their profile.
Aside from food, my main vices are movies and photography although lately I find less time for these. I try to play squash, swim, gym and/or jump rope on a daily basis (with my sweet tooth, I kinda need to!) alhumdulillah.
I was previously married and I know marriage is not an easy thing - it takes work and effort on both sides - and there are ups and downs but alhumdulillah if you find the right person, you fight for the relationship because it’s worth fighting for.
I must quote a song I heard where a lady is driving home after burying her husband and reminiscing about their life:
“Forty years go by with someone laying in your bed
Forty years of things you say you wish you’d never said
How hard would it have been so say some kinder words instead?”
That’s how I wish my marriage to be - “kinder words instead”. In-sha'Allah.

What I Am Looking For
But what am I looking for?
In a nutshell, somebody who like myself manages all five prayers everyday (so please have “always prays” checked) and wears hijaab, but is not extreme either. As the Hadith states, we are not meant to hide away at home and not mingle with the wider world and instead be examples to the world.
And honestly, I’m not a guy that judges people based on make up or how they look (beyond the hijaab) - I am more interested in your personality and compatibility. In fact, make up is something I really don’t like.
I’m not averse to a sister with child(ren) - in fact I’ve even thought of adopting if things don’t work out as I’d love to be a father. Obviously this would need more of a conversation and coordination before proceeding in-sha'Allah.
Not a mawlid fan - sorry. And not a fan of so called salafis either.
Aaaand here’s the kicker:
I can’t relocate from Glasgow for the foreseeable future due to my father and needing to help him in his elderly age after having recently had a stroke. Alhumdulillah he is physically ok but his speech and memory was affected. And Alhumdulillah he is improving week by week. (My mom recently passed away unexpectedly from cancer.)

Yeah. Figured I’d lose you there. (Also, if I see ‘none,’ ‘locally,’ or ‘regionally’ in your preferences regarding relocating, I’ll not bother you as I’ll assume Scotland is too far for you since it apparently requires a spot on the Falcon X rocket to get here.)
Also, if your sole determination in whether to proceed to a chat on here is based on my pictures, I’m not the guy for you. (Not that I am hideous to look at - but I’m basing that on the fact that random guys on the street have tried to hit on me... *nods* true story.)
